PERSONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT

"The most helpful part of the program was coming to the realization that my wife and I can build a new paradigm of making decisions together for the career needs/hopes we presented. We gained courage. The time exploring recent struggles related to career issues/family issues was helpful in anticipating future plans. I left with a feeling that I understand myself better."

The following program tracks may be of interest to individuals that are seeking vocational support or career direction:

Personal Career Development Program
This program is designed for those seeking to clarify their leadership skills, participate in a professional maintenance conversation or to assess your ability to meet the leadership demands/needs of your organization. If you are facing either a normative or unanticipated career transition, the direction of your program would involve assessment, strategic planning and goal-setting.

Exploratory Session
This program option is a one-hour consultation during which you and one of the center's staff will review your employment or vocational situation with the intention of clarifying which Center program might best fit your circumstances. The fee for this consultation will be applied to the cost of any program that is contracted.

The following services are available to individuals that are seeking vocational support or career direction:

Assessment
Assessment through a battery of objective inventories is at the core of the Personal Career Development program. Personality and vocational inventories are used. This program is typically two consecutive days in duration. A program summary detailing your skills, characteristics, and interactive style as well as points of vulnerability may be included to assist you with your vocational or employment planning. A standard fee applies to the formal two-day program.

Counseling
Our counselors strive to deepen one's self-awareness of his/her professional goals, objectives, and interpersonal style. The identification of skills, interests, values and vision for one's work are central to the process. Our counselors will help you to assess and claim your professional competencies as well as "own" your potential areas of vulnerability, explore issues related to current work difficulties and reckon with emotional strain, family relationships or other sources of stress. Each Personal Career Development program clarifies potential vocational options. Retirement aspirations may also become a focus. Vocational, social, psychological, emotional, and financial adjustments that may lie ahead are considered.

Coaching
Our staff will help you to identify specific skills or capacities that you need to bring to your setting and then construct a coaching process to broaden knowledge and improve performance. This process may begin during a Personal Career Development program and continue afterward or be a stand-alone consultation that is contracted for with a member of our staff. Coaching often involves meeting by appointment with a counselor, either in person or by telephone. Fees for coaching will be negotiated.

Consultation
Our staff can assist you on an hourly basis to clarify and/or assess your development needs and meet with you before and during a transition that you are experiencing.
